It Started with a Presentation
Founded in 2008, the idea of Poll Everywhere was conjured from a presentation. Co-founders Jeff Vyduna and Brad Gessler met while both consultants at Deloitte. As they sat through countless meetings and presentations, they discovered that many people often zoned out, checked their phones, or started side conversations.
An App Is Born
Eager to maintain their audience’s attention as they presented, Vyduna and Gessler created a text-based voting application that allowed the audience to submit responses via SMS texting and see their responses updated in real-time on their presentation. The application was a hit, and Vyduna and Gessler were inspired to make all presentations more engaging. And thus, Poll Everywhere was born.
